Hundreds of "Cockroach Party" protesters in India have taken to the streets, calling for the country's chief electoral commissioner to be impeached.
Some opposition party politicians were briefly detained and mobile internet services suspended at the protests.
The move comes after a controversial voter roll revision which the protesters allege amounted to electoral manipulation.
India's prime minister is facing renewed pressure as thousands led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and activist groups took to the streets demanding the resignation of the elections commission chief over a controversial voter roll revision.
Supporters of the CJP — which began in May as a satirical online movement — rallied in Mumbai's Shivaji Park, in their first protests since July, when their nationwide campaign helped oust the education minister.
Separately, hundreds of people gathered on roads around Jantar Mantar, a government-designated protest site in the heart of New Delhi, which was sealed off behind police barricades.
Police detained multiple protesters in Delhi, put them on buses and dropped them off elsewhere, but some returned to the Jantar Mantar site on foot.
