UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham on Wednesday insisted that there were "strong indications" that Tehran was involved in a security incident on Sunday near an airbase in England that the US military uses in its war against Iran. The British government has still not explained the nature of the incident – in which five British men were arrested only to be later released on bail – and no explosives were found at the scene.

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham on Wednesday alleged there were "strong indications" Iran was involved in suspicious activity at a UK airbase that triggered a major security incident this weekend. Five British men arrested in connection with the incident were released on bail on Monday.
"There are strong indications that Iran played a part in what happened over the weekend at RAF Fairford," Burnham told the BBC, referring to Sunday's bomb scare near the airbase in southwest England , which is used by the US military in its war against Iran.
"Of course it remains an ongoing, complex, and serious police investigation," said Burnham.
